You may not be aware of all the Commandments but it is often the case, you may already have taken to heart some of the moral laws as evidence by a conscience that has not yet been severed from reality.
For example, you may be quite prone to envy and covetousness, but you may have a boundary drawn against adultery, although you may still succumb to lust. You may have a propensity for using foul degrading language, but then, you may not use God’s name in vain. You may strive to speak the truth, though you may also be apt to steal from others. You may be averse to lying, but you may also be the stuck in idolatry.
Even if we take some pride in our outward behavior in some aspects, we all fall woefully short of the glory and righteousness of God. Jesus sought it necessary to teach in parabolic comparisons to hammer home the points into our mortal understanding. These parabolic type teachings are in part an effort for our limited capacity to assess the humungous chasm between our sinfulness and God’s Holiness.
Most of us toy with the idea that we can achieve suitable parity with a Holy God, only because we are so grossly ignorant and stupid. Nevertheless, Jesus sought to teach us to reveal the truths of God’s kingdom.
And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. – Matthew 19:24
And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell – Mark 9:47
Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” – Mark 10:15
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. – John 3:3
Continuing on the path of fatal misjudgments will result in the worst and tragic surprise ever:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, in Your name did we not prophesy, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ – Matthew 7:21-23
Henceforth:
… do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. – Matthew 10:28
We need to be born again. In other words, we are so much a slave to sin, we need to die to self and be restored by God. All glory goes to God, we can take no real credit for good works except that God may choose to work through us, The more we understand God, the more we can become useful to God and the Gospel.
Cast your trust upon God for deliverance. Pray for His mercy. Turn from sin, Give thanks for Jesus Christ who died so that you may be saved.
Live in the context of this reality: Jesus paid for the errors that we could never pay for on our own. Only a perfect and sinless sacrifice meets the expectations and Jesus Christ (God) was the only one who could meet that task.
Without divine action, we can neither achieve moral perfection in this life nor Salvation based on our own works. We can only achieve perfection by being covered by Christ’s righteousness (through His sacrificial death and Resurrection), and receiving guidance from the Holy Spirit to steer us from succumbing to temptation to sin.
We must always guard against being “good enough” in some areas to develop some self-righteousness, when in reality our tainted selves cannot hold up to a Holy God who will judge us for our sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us – 1 John 1:8

Some roadblocks to a moral conscience
We are all sinners, yet we struggle to do the right things that still have a home in our conscience.
As Christians, it is not possible for us to actually judge others in an eternal sense, that’s God’s domain. The facts of the Moral Law in the form of the Ten Commandments is pretty much the radar gun that points at our souls, letting us know we are breaking the law. The objective measure of a good conscience can be measured in how well you understand the Moral Law found in the Ten Commandments.
Sinful can be in our response that goes unhinged and unrighteous ways, in stressful situations. It is not unusual we feel the pain of being wronged, and we can respond with tit-for-tat justice, or we can begin to see our own weaknesses and with humility see God’s ways and our own errors.
You cannot underestimate the cultural influence either, the very same environment you choose to absorb most of your values as they accumulate over time and affect your behavior. They affect your response to whether someone cuts you off on the highway, helping someone truly in need, or to someone asking you whether you believe in God, and certainly if you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins.
The cultural noises are great and this is the environment that today’s proponents of Bible study must overcome. A determined effort to lasting spiritual change takes a high priority to compete with the 24/7 marketing what Satan would have you rather do.
Satan on a world institutional level and man’s own sin nature are behind the systems that draw people away from the Gospel.
From experience, my worldly attitudes and pride kept me from an attitude of servanthood to the Lordship of Christ. All I can say is, God can be patient if it takes us time to see our self-righteous and idolatry for what they really are.
For a Christian to take their faith seriously, that’s what is necessary: awareness of the prodigious trap of an incomplete truth to unfaithfully accept Christ by lip-service. Academic understanding must give way to a heart and loyalty change. Becoming liberated by sin from God is a glorious quest, not of one’s own self-interest, rather, to be built upon self-denial, a surrender to become devoted to a just and good God, the Sovereign Judge of the Universe.
How to get the correct laws on your heart
Jesus Christ, The Way, The Life and The Truth, a Believer’s High Priest, came to save the world because, otherwise, we are all designated for God’s eternal judgment and wrath. Understanding the Gospel is essential, the most important covenant in one’s life.
The message of Christ and the Bible, particularly the bold Truths declared by Jesus Himself, is one of simplicity that many find difficult because of the noises and redirections that threaten to draw most people from God’s restoration and eternal blessings.
As a matter of credibility, Jesus’ coming to earth to then sacrificing Himself as punishment for the sins we deserve is foretold in many Old Testament prophecies. Jesus Himself prophecied his own suffering, death, and His Resurrection. The Apostles Matthew and John summarized first hand accounts of the ministry and miracles of Jesus. John Mark and Doctor Luke also authored their accounts citing the evidence of eye witnesses who they knew personally. The Apostle Paul, a former highly regarded religious Jew and zealous persecutor of the Church, the least likely disciple of Christ, his life was turned around by being confronted by the Risen Lord. Ultimately, Paul made well documented contributions to evangelizing the Church. All of these contemporaries and eye witnesses of Jesus contribute to the Canon of the New Testament.
The historical record of Jesus’ life and Resurrection is reliable, documented to an amazing degree compared to other ancient events. It is likely you may not accept this truth unless you come to belief in Jesus Christ, then the Truths will jump off the pages like you never imagined. That’s how it’s been with me.
Fight against being confounded by the lies of the world, know that the Bible is the written Word of God. Scrutinized and criticized throughout history, it has stood the test of time. Scripture is consistent, self-supporting and is best used to provide an accurate assessment of world and its religions rather than using human developed ideas and philosophies to judge the Bible.
All Scripture is God–breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be equipped, having been thoroughly equipped for every good work. – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
In America, our nation was built on the foundation of a Christ and Biblical centered model, where our rights come directly from Almighty God and not subject to the government or the injection of culture built on pagan, demonic, idolatrous and heretical philosophy and religion. This is a critical safeguard designed into the U.S. Constitution that no set of absolute power dictators would seek to design. At the same time, the necessary Christian fabric waved throughout society becomes an essential fundamental for survival = people who individually are given rights from Creator God, are also accountable to the same Sovereign and morally righteous God, the Supreme Judge. The goodness of this nation could only have found its springboard from this morally Christian foundation. The further we deviate from it only bodes for greater divine judgment.
There is only one True and Living God and that is the one that has been carefully recorded in the supernatural collection of writings called the Bible that continue to prove themselves historically reliable.
Marriage and family are at their optimal if they strive to follow in accordance to the model of Christ and the Church. I continue to repeat this because the family, led by a God fearing husband and wife, is the essential core of a God inspired society.
Therefore, my reiterated exhortation to men and women: do not rely on your local church to act as a surrogate for your required servanthood to the Lord Jesus Christ. The church is there to serve as a place of corporate worship and service to the community but it is not a proxy for your personal surrender the Lord. As man or woman, you cannot be seek to fulfill your roles in the family if you are not striving to take personal action and accountability to the Lord Jesus Christ. If you leave it to the Church to fulfill your discipleship needs without a personal surrender, you take a great risk to be led astray onto the wide path of destruction, and consequently, to not be known by Christ in the Day of Judgment (Matthew 7:13-14).
Jesus Christ died for your sins. He became the target of Wrath from God, paying the penalty that all people, throughout history who will ever believe, rightly deserve. He did it knowing that otherwise, we are all destined for eternal separation (torment and punishment) in Hell. Christ’s suffering was beyond our ability to fathom, causing Himself to be separated from God the Father as our sin was piled upon the Son to bear.
The Eternal Union of Love
God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit share a relationship of Love and without sin, that has existed even before Creation, before time began. But for our sake, Jesus Christ made the sacrifice to redeem us from our sin, that resulted in a divine separation, in accordance to the will of God the Father.
Without God’s Grace, the Law condemns. Under the God’s Grace, we find joy in the Law, it becomes a guiding light.
How are the Laws are written on your heart?
I desire to do Your will, O my God;
Your law is within my inner being – Psalm 40:8
But this is the covenant which I will cut with the house of Israel after those days,” declares Yahweh: “I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. – Jeremiah 31:33
How great a Savior, how great a gift of Grace this is. Once you are aware of how Christ saves, are you drawn to accept it?
He paid for our sins, the wages of which are death and subsequent eternal punishment in Hell, but we can humble ourselves to the Good New, the liberation, that rescue, that Truth!
God beckons us in Love, but as in Love, God cannot force us to choose Him.
May God draw you away from worldly preconceptions that obscure your vision of the Truth.
The time is now to come to trust the Lord, Will you pray to repent from sin, and trust completely in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, your High Priest, the Way, the Truth and the Life!
