THE SPIRITUAL ONE YOU DON’T SEE FOR WHAT IT IS
We all practically apply the physical laws of the universe without much issue. Don’t stick your hand in a fire, you’ll get burned. Don’t fall of a tall building, striking the ground is not good. What we do not very well understand are the spiritual laws that govern the relationship between people and God and to one another.
Because we are all made in the image of God, we all have a sense of justice and how crimes, both large and small, should have consequences. Assuming you still have a conscience, when you break the law yourself and you know if you are caught, you know you are subject to suffer consequences. So how do you suppose a holy and righteous God intends to dispense justice?
The avoidance of the subject of hell and divine judgment is so extensive the armchair church attendees are oblivious to the reality.
As evidenced in the Gospels, the Lord Jesus Christ, whose attributes of love and compassion are widely accepted, believed it was important enough to teach often about hell and judgment, to warn often about these realities. He understood this reality so well as to willingly obey His Father’s will to suffer a substitutionary death on the Cross for people like you and me (ref 23.09 “Avoid it like all Hell”).
That is true compassion, to tell the truth despite how it contradicts powerful forces. The Apostle Paul stated in Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Pressured by the world’s growing lack of acceptance of the God of the Bible, many are made ignorant by those who are expected to be stewards of the teachings in the Bible. These leaders are unwilling to teach all of Holy Scripture for fear of sounding judgmental to avoid scaring away the people in the pews. To confound matters further, church-goers or not, people are predisposed to abdicate their own responsibilities to understand the Bible, even if they have the authoritative instruction to study it.
A popular “church” which does not tackle the challenge of highlighting the Holiness and Righteousness of God and instead focuses on a happy earthly life, ceremonies, rituals, or even community service, while hiding the consequences of ignoring God’s Holiness is a tragedy waiting to happen. The cruise ship of life is going to strike the iceberg but society and institutionalized religion in general doesn’t want to interrupt the party.
The physical laws established by God, the Master of Creation, have been discovered over the centuries and are accepted for their hard scientific value. What is not as well understood is how God also ordained moral laws which, in regards to human nature, establish standards by which sin is to be judged upon.
On a society level, the de-emphasis of the Ten Commandments, the cornerstone of the moral Law provided by God, is evidenced through the erosion of the moral resistance provided by a society, This deterioration is similar to how energy sources degrade in the physical laws. This is an Interesting correlation worthy of its own discussion, but just something, for now, to get you to ponder the reality.
This spiritual pandemic is far worse than any hubris related to “gain of function” viruses. The spiritual pandemic destroys from within and leads to a state of depravity and eternal death, a headline you will not find soon in your MSM browser.
