Who is Jesus Christ?

While many religions share essential human relation ideas for the good of a society, the key difference offered by Christianity centers around the person of Jesus of Galilee known as Jesus the Christ.

Who is Jesus Christ? What did He claim? Why would this be the most critical discovery you will make in your life?

For the Biblical perspective, I’ve selected a video of one of the greatest Bible expositors of our generation and his detailed explanation of who Jesus Christ is. (lick on the image below or load this link in your browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-6ouCbZDhM)

Rather than trying to explain myself who Jesus Christ is, it’s a lot better and easier to leverage this video of one of the truly great teachers of the Bible.

As I post this article, the surprise attack by Hamas against Israel erupted over a week ago with Israel mounting a massive counter strike against the Gaza area where the attacks originated from. There is tragedy upon tragedy of human suffering and there is no easy solution. There is not better time than now to have a better understanding of who Jesus Christ is.

Yet, the war in the Middle East is not the only thing that is on my mind when posting this article.

I think of a very dear friend of mine who was just coming into adulthood, valedictorian of his high school graduating class and accepted into a prestigious university. His father was a strict disciplinarian, a tough man, a stoic man, but he died at an early age from cancer before he could relate to his son as an adult. I will never forget what my friend told me in his anguish over his father’s death, “I feel like I’ve been ripped off.”

I’ll always remember other friends who were part of the church and who had committed suicide and still look back with regrets of them not being able to seek help.

And I think of friends and family who just never really find the time to take a serious look at the person whose existence pivoted the history of the world. The worldly distractions mount at a fever pitch.

One of the comments on this video caught my eye was from a man who, admitted that because of his study of “white history” he had harbored racial animosity against white Christian preachers. The commentor admitted that by listening to this talk by John MacArthur, God convicted him particularly in this way: “My God manifested Himself in the face of Jesus the Christ” and “took the anger and disappointment out of my heart and replaced [it] with a learning of love of who Christ is… I truly know that God has no respect of persons.”

I post this video for my friends who share the commentor’s former racist sentiments in hopes that, just perhaps, they will have a change of heart of who Jesus is and that they may realize that racism is not right which ever direction it leads.

Jesus Christ pursues a saving relationship with all people, from the most renown to the most marginalized, including you.

As Christians, we are given a commission to share the gospel. Try as we may, we are not responsible for a non-believer’s actual acceptance of Christ, that is both a work of God and a decision made freely by each person.

Whether or not you are a believer in Christ and want a deeper understanding of who Jesus Christ is, I invite you to watch this video or have found it helpful coming to a better understanding who Jesus Christ is.
