The prophecy of the birth of the Messiah was fulfilled and recorded that you might believe.
According to many online sources, the Bible consists of approximately 27% prophecy. Most have been fulfilled already and hundreds have yet to be fulfilled with the future return of Jesus Christ and the events surrounding that ultimate event.
God emphasizes his sovereignty with supernatural signs through, events, nature, and from His prophets and prophecy to help us learn about the significance of these events. You can think of them as God in His grace giving us signs of His presence and trail markers to find the Way.
This post highlights just one prophecy, another reminder that His supernatural power is at work and His plan of saving humanity through Grace is in effect. Our Eternal King has come in humility, love, and with a servant’s attitude to save us. How have you responded to it?
From 400 years before by the Prophet Micah
But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from everlasting, From the ancient days.” – Micah 5:2

Matthew reiterates the prophecy as one being fulfilled
But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from everlasting, From the ancient days.” – Matthew 2:4-6
Jesus’ family from Nazareth, but born in Bethlehem. Why was that?
Now it happened that in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus for a census to be taken of all the inhabited earth. This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And everyone was going to be registered for the census, each to his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was betrothed to him, and was with child. Now it happened that while they were there, the days were fulfilled for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the guest room. – Luke 2:1-7
John, who wrote his Gospel so that you may believe Jesus is the Son of God, wrote this reemphasizing the prophetic message, heralding the coming of the Messiah.
Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” – John 7:42
