The assassination a beloved person at the head of a mass movement, is catalyzing and forging a sudden transformation within society, an accelerated change that would not have occurred without the unexpected death of its leader.

Thousands upon thousands of people are turning “I am Charlie Kirk” into a battle cry.

The declaration that “I am Charlie Kirk” is empowering to the extent Charlie’s character becomes a standard of all the desirable characteristics that Charlie exhibited, which notably is a peaceful, open dialogue, and form of Christian-based patriotism departing from ineffective norms of recent history. Furthermore, the declaration of “I am Charlie Kirk” can be a badge of honor becoming of one who embodies similar personal characteristics and behaviors as those exhibited by the outstanding model Charlie was.

It has taken several days before I could set my thoughts down, heartbroken for the tragic loss of an inspiringly gifted young man of God, a patriotic American, a superb leader, a devoted husband, father, son and brother, mentor to a generation, and spiritual brother in Christ.

I believe one of the greatest reasons for his rise was a long time and desperate need for genuine leadership on a national scale, in this country and the world. In this age, it simply wasn’t enough only to have successful people focused in their own limited realm of influence, whether as CEOs, military commanders, politicians, pro athletes, beloved pastors, or syndicated talk show hosts.

The generations of people drawn to the internet and social media have a gross propensity to be entertained, not unlike the illustration offered by Russel Crowe’s character, Maximus Decimus Meridius, in Gladiator challenging the blood thirsty crowds in the arena. Yet Charlie was not mere entertainment, he spanned the spectrum in ways others could not. He was man imbued with principle, knowledge, and a desire to build rapport that intersected with what many hearts of teens, young men and women were and are desperate for.

Charlie Kirk was gifted by God in so many areas, he excelled in a mission that was/is founded on a vision based strongly in the ideals that formed the United States as a nation and the nuclear family as designed by God. Yet he was much more than that.

Charlie understood where future of this country stood and the attacks upon it. His focus on all people, and college students especially, to restore purpose and love of country was masterful and tireless. His reach around the world is not a surprise because America and Americanism at its best is not confined to the the United States as a nation but as a principles of life that are ordained by God given rights and Scriptural truth.

He embodied an awe-inspiring wealth of information and an effectiveness to focus that knowledge on the debate stage to encourage critical thinking. If you were liberally minded, at least you came to understand your own position more clearly.

Kirk was confident yet humble, open and inviting to engage anyone with genuine opposing views and even some people were disingenuous and insulting, that did not matter, he could take insults with humility, understanding that his mission was far greater than just deflecting the darts of personal attacks.

Notable was Charlie’s generous ability and unselfish desire to help others succeed. He had an eye for noticing aspiring leaders and mentored and/or encourage them. That’s an aspect of God that is lost on most people, how God’s mercy and love in reaching out are as integral to God’s glory as His righteousness and holiness.

To truly know Charlie Kirk is to understand what it means to be a follower of Christ. His own humble admissions to the source of his success and endurance, he always pointed to the Grace of God and specifically the power of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is nothing unusual about this admission for one who is surrendered to the will of Jesus Christ, from whom all blessings flow from.

Charlie’s gratitude for the grace of God is not simply an act of humility but it is a declaration of the Truth. Charlie excelled in offering the truth as authored by God supernaturally through the writers of the Bible as he did with facts in so many subjects, proven by his prolific and consistent record of debate. His perspective was founded on God’s moral law and God given rights as preserved in the U.S. Constitution.

If you are not a follower of Christ, the inconvenient Truth is, America is a great country and a blessed country to the extent that it gives glory to God and how we acknowledge the sovereign rule of the King or kings and Lord of lords, the Prince of Peace who is the Son, Jesus Christ.

Living in wanton disregard to God’s moral laws is simply inviting divine judgment.

Charlie often shared the Gospel, the “Good News” of God’s grace for the salvation of sinners, so he knew the underlying mission as a follower of Christ and that is helping fulfill the Great Commission, to proclaim God’s gracious gift for all who will hear, repent from sin and believe.

Sharing the gospel and spreading the news to the furthest reaches of the earth are the standing orders of Jesus Christ, the same Jesus who will return in His Second Coming to righteously judge all of human kind.

As a child of Almighty God, we are not bow down to worship people or things on earth, nor immoral acts. We are all subject to the temptations born in the flesh and are innately inclined to sin as sparks fly upwards.

As servants of God, we learn to respect people without idolizing them, that means, without turning people or things into a surrogate for God Himself.

If Charlie does see the mass movement his death has created (which I believe he does or ultimately will with heavenly perspective) he would still, in earnest humility, give all glory to God and do what he could to keep people’s focus, not on himself, but on the One who deserves all glory and has been the true source of the miraculous successes = God. God has worked through His amazing servant, the incredible man we know as the American patriot Charlie Kirk.

The glory of God greatly surpasses all things.

Believing in Christ as Lord and Savior is to be free from God’s condemnation because of our sin and instead are secured in God’s eternal protection. Believers are transformed by God and given a new heart with new desires that are pleasing to God. Becoming a believer in Christ means beginning a life long process (and struggles) of becoming more holy like Christ. Believers are blessed with hope of not only being in spiritual peace and presence with Christ after death (like Charlie is now), but also looking forward to the magnificence of a sinless bodily resurrection and life in glory and eternal harmony with God.

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to do what has happened on this day, to keep many people alive. – Genesis 50:20

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. – Romans 8:28
