The Seasons of Life: In times of plenty, prepare for winter

And prepare for opportunity

Is your job getting you down? Start looking downrange.

Have you ever found yourself wondering if you were stuck in a boring job for a good reason that you haven’t discovered yet?

Using a small fraction of your brain potential doing the equivalent of intellectual ditch digging and getting paid too much for it? That can make you feel a bit uneasy.

You listen attentively to your co-workers who often see the same short-comings as you do but they are more than willing to tolerate the inefficiencies and productivity killers as just being part of the job, any job, because they would say, “there is no perfect solution so why try to change anything.”

I want to suggest to you that, you are in Hell during the Summer and you better get ready for the upcoming change of seasons.

Let’s catch up with a few words from Mr. Rohn about Summer and Winter.

An incredible teacher and mentor, "America's Foremost Business Philosopher" Mr. Jim Rohn

An incredible teacher and mentor, “America’s Foremost Business Philosopher” Mr. Jim Rohn

“To assume that winter will not come is naive.”
“The winters will not change, but you can.”

Jim Rohn spoke of the Season’s of Life and one of his favorite talks in relation to seasons was about ants. A small excerpt of his extensive talk about ants goes like this:

“You can’t be so naive as to think summer will last forever. So ants are gathering in their winter food in the middle of summer.”

(and, Mr. Rohn, could you  briefly comment about Spring and Fall?) “Everyone must become good at one of two things, either take advantage of the Spring (opportunities) or beg in the Fall.”

(Thank you, Mr.Rohn).

Are you preparing for the Winter? Are you preparing for the opportunities that await for you during the Winter?

What are your Potentials?

If you wonder what your potentials are, consider your intellectual ditch digging and how much a corporation is willing and able to pay you for this service. You can be pretty certain of one thing, assuming your job is pretty secure and you’re not about to be an unwilling participant in a down-sizing, you do provide value to the company and it is worth the amount they pay you.

However, if you believe like I do, that the greater you are able to actualize the power of all of your passion, skills and mind, this is even more valuable, even exceedingly more valuable to the market. Make it your quest to discover how it is possible you can profit accordingly.

You need to do some extra work during the Summer of your life in preparation for the upcoming Winter. Don’t be lulled into complacency. Seek to understand how you can take advantage of the opportunities in the market through which you will be able to make good use of the unique attraction power and value you possess.
